Day 1: the book "Soon I will be invincible" is a great read and puts me in a good headsapce for a mutants and masterminds game.

Claines corner New Mexico : you have not entered kitchy hell until you have been to this store....

Albequerque has nice hotels and good spicy mexican food. Been a long while since I had it New Mexico style.

Day 2:
You forget, living Texas where the world is as flat as a pancake, that stuff really way off in the distance actually does looky hazy and tinted blue, just like in video games when you turn the draw distance waaaay up. It takes there being mountains to remind you of this.

Petrified forset has wifi.... why? Because it can.
Drinking fountains? Not so much.

Total count : wifi 2 waterfoutains 0

Also? The liscence plate game is easy with a camera.

Painted dessert is very pretty, and since we started there and worked back towards the main section of petrified forest I saw a lot of stuff I don't remeber seeing before.

And, we saw our first satakite tonight while star gazing.

Day 3
Note to self: lava rocks make poor bedding material.

Additional note to self: if in future it is my turn to guard the keys at night, I will place them somewhere that I cannot roll over on the at 1 am and set of the van's panic alarm. Which, because this is a rental, we don't know how to turn off...

And perhaps I should have emptied out my cameras sd card prior to coming on the trip...

As kurt pointed out, vacations are so much better with technology. I agree.

Ancient indian ruins are so cool. Though god peopke have a weird idea about what ancient people were like.

The Grand Canyon is big... so damn big.

Saw several meteors. We're traveling during a big meteor shower. Spotted jupiter, 2 satalites, scorpio, casiopia, pegasus and sagitarius.

People tried to camp steal twice during the night, and there were coyotes howling at 3am.

Day 5

Megan is Serious Business hiking today the rest of us are going easy.

Rim trail hiking today, lots of fun. Taken neary 500 picture s of the canyon. Got lost getting to rim trail, nature made up for it with a deer

You've never dropped in to South Of The Border in Georgia (yep, the one with all those billboards on I-95), have you? IMHO NOTHING compares to that in kitch...

In terms of hell, I recommend Larado, TX in winter. A finer mudhole my eyes have yet to behold.

Well, glad you're safe and having fun.

Well.. I cureently have over 750 pictures on the sd card in my phone... which I had to empty once already when it became full. It can hold 2000 pictures... but I kinda forgot to clean like the last 1500 off it ^.^ so I'm not sure how many photos I've taken but its a lot.
